Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interactions with the Platform.
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
  • Log data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies: small data files stored on your device to maintain your session and preferences. See Section 6 for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account, including authenticating your identity via magic link emails or third-party sign-in providers.
  • Display charity dining events relevant to your selected cities.
  • Process your event submissions, votes, and favorites.
  • Calculate and display karma scores based on your community participation.
  • Send you email notifications and digests based on your preferences.
  • Improve, personalize, and optimize the Platform experience.

  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Public profile activity: your display name, votes on events, and favorited entities may be visible to other users.
  • Event submissions: events you submit, once approved, are displayed publicly with your display name as the submitter.
  • Service providers: we share data with third-party providers who help us operate the Platform (e.g., hosting, analytics, email delivery). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

The Platform uses the following third-party services that may collect or process information:

  • Supabase: database, authentication, and image storage services.
  • Resend: transactional and magic link email delivery.
  • Heroku: application hosting.
  • Google: authentication via Google Sign-In (if you choose this sign-in method).
  • Apple: authentication via Sign in with Apple (if you choose this sign-in method).

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data. We encourage you to review their policies.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your login session, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the Platform. Our authentication cookies are set on the .eats4good.com domain, which means your session is shared across all city subdomains (e.g., atx.eats4good.com, dallas.eats4good.com).

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of the Platform, including staying signed in.

The Platform does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as there is no industry-standard method for honoring these signals.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Platform's services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.
